From Childhood Dreams to Historic Reality: Becoming a School Owner

Ever since I was five years old, I dreamed of becoming a teacher. There was something magical about the idea of sharing knowledge, shaping futures, and inspiring others to reach their potential. Over the years, that dream grew, evolving into a vision of not just teaching, but creating a space where education could thrive in new and innovative ways. Today, I stand on the cusp of making history as the owner of Pompano Beauty Academy, the only beauty school in Florida to offer both hybrid and in-person classes for students.

Introducing hybrid education was not an easy journey. When I first proposed this idea, it was met with skepticism. Many considered it unnecessary and unprecedented, but I knew it was a necessary evolution for modern education. I made my case to the Florida Department of Education, standing firm on the importance of flexibility for students, especially in light of rising costs in housing and groceries. Hybrid education isn't just about convenience; it's about accessibility, inclusivity, and preparing students for a dynamic future. After thorough presentations and unwavering advocacy, I succeeded in gaining approval, paving the way for this groundbreaking approach at Pompano Beauty Academy.

As the January 2025 opening approaches, I find myself filled with a mix of emotions: nervousness, excitement, curiosity, and a touch of imposter syndrome. There’s a lingering question in my mind: Could it be that I’ve truly set a historical milestone by opening this educational institution? Regardless of the answer, I’m embracing the uncertainty and celebrating the journey.
